Three great parks from the Kenyan coast

Three of Kenya's most celebrated national parks in five action-packed days. Beginning on the coast, this safari sweeps through the vast savannah of Tsavo East — home to the famous red-dust elephants and maneless lions — then into the volcanic landscapes of Tsavo West, where crystal-clear Mzima Springs harbour hippos and crocodiles.

The journey culminates in Amboseli's wide-open plains beneath the towering silhouette of Mount Kilimanjaro. A grand tour of southern Kenya's wildlife, scenery, and unforgettable moments.

Why We Love This Journey

Three parks, one grand southern circuit

What makes this coast-based safari the perfect add-on to a Kenya beach holiday.

1

Departs from the Coast

Pick-up from your hotel in Mombasa or Diani Beach means no backtracking to Nairobi — step straight off the beach and into the bush. The perfect safari bolt-on for travellers already on the Kenyan coast.

2

Tsavo's Red Elephants

Tsavo East's famous elephants coat themselves in rust-coloured laterite soil, creating one of Africa's most iconic wildlife spectacles — vast herds moving across an ancient landscape of red earth and endless sky.

3

Mzima's Underwater World

Crystal-clear pools fed by Kilimanjaro's meltwater, where an underwater viewing chamber reveals hippos and crocodiles gliding beneath the surface — one of Kenya's most unique and enchanting wildlife encounters.

4

Volcanic Drama

Tsavo West's terrain is spectacularly varied — ancient lava flows, rocky outcrops, dense woodland and a critically endangered rhino sanctuary. No two drives look the same in this dramatic, ever-changing landscape.

5

Kilimanjaro's Stage

Amboseli offers the most celebrated view in African wildlife — large elephant herds crossing open plains with the snow-capped peak of Africa's highest mountain rising behind them. No other park delivers this backdrop.

6

Three Parks, Five Days

A compact but comprehensive circuit through southern Kenya's finest reserves — ideal for travellers who want a meaningful safari experience without a long itinerary. Every day brings a new park and a new landscape.

Your Journey

Day-by-day safari itinerary

Five days across three of southern Kenya's greatest national parks — every detail considered.

Day1

Tsavo East National ParkMombasa to Tsavo East · First Game Drives

Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Mombasa or Diani Beach. As the coastal palms give way to open savannah, the adventure takes shape. Enter Tsavo East National Park through the Bachuma Gate and begin your first game drive immediately.

Search for the famous maneless lions, red-dust elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, and zebras across one of Kenya's largest and oldest parks. The drive takes you past the Aruba Dam — a vital water source where wildlife congregates, particularly during the dry season. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and settle in. In the afternoon, head out on a second game drive to explore fresh corners of the park.

Day2

Tsavo West National ParkTsavo East to Tsavo West · Rhino Sanctuary

Rise before dawn for an early morning game drive when the bush is at its most alive — predators returning from the hunt, elephants nursing their young, and birdsong filling the still air. Return to your lodge for breakfast, then depart for Tsavo West National Park, enjoying wildlife sightings along the route.

In the afternoon, visit the Rhino Sanctuary for a chance to see the critically endangered eastern black rhinoceros, followed by a game drive past the park's famous lava flows with the distant snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro framing the horizon.

Day3

Tsavo West National ParkMzima Springs & the Volcanic Heartland

Another early start rewards you with sightings of hunters in action and vast herds of grazers beginning their day across the plains. After a hearty breakfast, continue exploring Tsavo West's varied terrain.

The highlight of the day is a visit to Mzima Springs — a series of enchanting natural pools fed by underground sources, surrounded by lush greenery. Here you will encounter hippos, crocodiles, exotic migratory birds, and fish in crystal-clear water. Return to your lodge for a leisurely afternoon and dinner.

Day4

Amboseli National ParkTsavo West to Amboseli · Kilimanjaro's Elephants

After breakfast, journey across the Maasai plains to Amboseli National Park. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, then set out on an afternoon game drive through the park's swamplands and open plains.

Amboseli's elephants are legendary — large herds move freely against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak. Lions, cheetahs, buffalo, zebra, and an extraordinary variety of birdlife complete the picture.

Day5

End of TourAmboseli to Mombasa / Diani · Departure

After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive through Amboseli for one last chance to witness the wildlife against Kilimanjaro's silhouette. Depart the park and journey back to the coast, stopping for lunch en route.

You will be dropped at your hotel in Mombasa or Diani Beach, or transferred to the airport — bringing to a close a grand circuit of southern Kenya's finest national parks.
