Why We Love This Journey

The perfect short safari from the coast

What makes this 3-day Tsavo circuit the ideal beach-holiday add-on.

1

Straight off the Beach

Morning pick-up from your hotel in Mombasa or Diani Beach means no flights or backtracking — step off the sand and into the bush within hours. The ideal bolt-on for a coastal holiday.

2

Tsavo's Red Elephants

Tsavo East's famous elephants coat themselves in rust-coloured laterite soil, creating one of Africa's most iconic wildlife spectacles — vast herds against an ancient landscape of red earth and endless sky.

3

Maneless Lions

Tsavo's male lions are famously maneless — a genetic trait unique to this population. Spotting one of these powerful, sleek predators against the park's red earth is one of Kenya's most distinctive safari encounters.

4

Mzima's Underwater World

Crystal-clear pools fed by Kilimanjaro's underground meltwater, where an underwater viewing chamber reveals hippos and crocodiles gliding beneath the surface — one of Kenya's most unique wildlife experiences.

5

Volcanic Drama

Tsavo West's terrain shifts with every turn — ancient Shetani lava flows, rocky outcrops, dense woodland, and a critically endangered rhino sanctuary. No two drives look the same in this dramatic landscape.

6

Compact but Complete

Three days is all it takes to witness red elephants at the Aruba Dam, rhinos in the sanctuary, hippos at Mzima Springs, and Kilimanjaro's peak on the horizon. A meaningful safari without a long itinerary.

Your Journey

Day-by-day safari itinerary

Three days across Kenya's two largest national parks — every detail considered.

Day1

Tsavo East National ParkMombasa to Tsavo East · First Game Drives

Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Mombasa or Diani Beach. Enter Tsavo East National Park through the Bachuma Gate and begin your first game drive immediately — searching for maneless lions, red-dust elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, and zebras across the park's sweeping savannah.

The drive takes you past the famous Aruba Dam, where wildlife congregates at the water's edge. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, then head out on an afternoon game drive to explore further.

Day2

Tsavo West National ParkTsavo East to Tsavo West · Rhino Sanctuary

Rise before dawn for an early morning game drive when the bush comes alive — predators on the move, young elephants at their mothers' sides, and the air filled with birdsong. Return for breakfast, then journey to Tsavo West, watching for wildlife along the route.

After lunch, visit the Rhino Sanctuary before an afternoon game drive past the park's striking lava flows, with the distant silhouette of Mount Kilimanjaro adding drama to every turn.

Day3

End of TourMzima Springs & Departure to Coast

Another early start brings sightings of grazers and predators beginning their day. After breakfast, continue exploring Tsavo West with a visit to Mzima Springs — crystal-clear pools surrounded by lush greenery, where hippos, crocodiles, and exotic birds thrive.

After a delicious lunch, depart for the coast and arrive back at your hotel in Mombasa or Diani Beach by late afternoon — or transfer directly to the airport.
