Why We Love This Journey

Big wildlife, small footprint

What makes this the perfect short eco-safari from the coast.

1

Coast to Bush in Hours

Depart from your hotel in Mombasa or Diani and be on a game drive in one of Africa's largest national parks before lunch — no internal flights, no layovers, just the open road and the bush at the other end.

2

Red-Dust Elephants

Tsavo East's elephants coat themselves in the park's distinctive laterite soil, turning a vivid russet red. Watching these herds gather at waterholes against the vast open plains is a quintessentially Kenyan experience.

3

Bush Sundowners

As evening falls over Tsavo, an optional sundowner brings fire, cocktails, and the golden light of the Sagala Hills — the sounds of the wild replacing every other distraction.

4

Waterhole After Dark

Salt Lick Safari Lodge's stilted rooms overlook a floodlit waterhole where elephants, buffalo, and predators arrive to drink just metres away — the bush coming to you after dark.

5

Conservation That Counts

Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is privately managed with a focus on sustainability and community benefit. Your stay directly supports anti-poaching operations, habitat restoration, and local livelihoods.

6

Community & Culture

Optional visits to local artisan cooperatives and farming communities offer a window into daily life around the sanctuary — tree planting, craft workshops, and genuine human connection beyond the game drive.
