Mombasa City Tour Itinerary
Pickup from your hotel at 9:00 AM. Our dedicated guide and staff will escort you around Mombasa. Visit the old fruit, vegetable, and spice markets. Arrive at Fort Jesus (entry fees are included), after which you will walk through the Old Town and bazaars, exploring the narrow winding streets of this ancient town and its historic structures. After this, visit Mama Ngina Drive and the ferry photo point, stopping to sample Mombasa’s famous cassava crisps, roasted sweet potato, and freshly cut coconut water. Pass the President’s Mombasa residence on your way to the Tusks, the gateway of Mombasa. Drive along the Old Station Road and visit one of the town’s grandest Hindu temples, adorned with intricate carvings that showcase the cultural diversity of Mombasa’s people. Your last stop in town is the Akamba Handicraft Centre, where you can witness how a plain log is transformed into a masterpiece carving.
After lunch at one of the given options, visit Haller Park, a rehabilitated quarry turned nature sanctuary where you can feed giraffes, learn how the desert became a forest, and watch hippos and crocodiles being fed. Haller Park is a marvelous way to end your day, walking among animals such as eland and giant tortoises, while witnessing crocodiles jump and snap in an awe-inspiring experience.
