Lamu
By Air (Two Day).
Day 1:
You will be collected from your coastal hotel and transferred to the airport for your flight, north to Manda Island. There, you will be ferried to Lamu by boat, arriving at your accomodation in time for lunch. Your hotel is tastefully appointed and aptly named the Palace Hotel. In the afternon, you will start your first excursion out of this unique 14th Century town, to Takwa Ruins (which can only be visited during high tide), befor visiting Matondoni.
Day 2:
This morning you will awaken to the cheerful sounds of the local fishermen, as they return from their night's fishing, docking thier boats at the jetty, outside the hotel.
After a delicious breakfast, you will be escorted onto an Arab style Lamu Dhow, returning for lunch, at the Palace Hotel. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Manda Island for your flight back to Malindi / Mombasa
